Kick off your shoes with JennisseMakeUp!

I apologize for the delay in posting the 2nd interview in this series but I was having technical difficulties yesterday and was unable to get the scheduled post to do its job.
Today in the "Kick Off Your Shoes with..." interview series we get to know the beautiful and talented Jen from JennisseMakeup! She does amazing tutorials that are so easy to follow I've even tried a few myself while getting ready for work and they turned out great! Be sure to click on the images to see the tutorials for the looks shown.

ICM: At what age did you discover make-up and start wearing makeup and what did you wear at first?
J: I was 5 years old and my sister and I would pretend to be makeup artist! We would mainly stick to Blush and Lipstick. RED LIPSTICK! AND BIGHT PINK BLUSH.

ICM: What made you really get into make-up (wearing and/or collecting)?
J: Since I was a little girl I loved makeup. I would sell my Barbie dolls for makeup! Makeup has always been my passion. As I started getting older....I started collection makeup.

ICM: What role did or does the YT beauty community play into your love of make-up?
J: My YouTube Fans and Subscribers play a BIG part in my life. They have given me so much support. I am truly blessed and humbly thankful! I am doing what I love to do and not only that, but I have the opportunity to show others how to feel better about themselves.

ICM: Did you start out with drugstore makeup first? If yes what was the first brand(s) you remember using?
J: Yes. I couldn't afford expensive makeup when I was younger. So, I would buy Maybelline New York and Max Factor.

ICM: Who’s your favorite Drag Queen?
J: I don't have a favorite. They are all wonderful.

ICM: What was the first brand of high end makeup you ever remember using?
J: MAC.

ICM: What are your staple items, the ones you can’t live without and have replaced at least once if not more?
J: My Estee Lauder Maximum Cover Concealer, MUFE HD foundation, Urban Decay Primer Potion, and my blush!

ICM: Brett Michaels or Dee Snyder and why?
J: I really don't know either one very well. But I will choose Dee Snyder....because there was a special on him one day and he seemed like such a great father to his little girl and that is very nice to see. We all need to set good examples to our youth. After all, they are our future.

ICM: Any makeup or skincare tips or tricks that you’d like to share?
J: I will be making a tutorial soon :o) yay!

ICM: What would you say to someone who is just getting into makeup to help him or her get started on the right foot?
J: Be yourself. If people are negative...keep trying. Never give up. Listen to your heart and never look back!

ICM: What do you do for a living and how does makeup play a role in that if any?
J: I am a makeup artist. Makeup surrounds my everyday life. I think makeup, I taste makeup, I feel makeup!

ICM: If you had to label your makeup style what would you call it?
J: It's my little secret. I might come out with one of my own one day and I would want it all to be a surprise.

ICM: Where do you get your inspiration for looks?
J: My head! lol I just look at everything and anything that would inspire me. From banners, to billboards and flowers. Anything that would catch my eye.

ICM: Was or is there a specific genre of music that influenced your makeup style?
J: Selena was a big inspiration for me when I was younger. Now I can not really say I stick to one style. I love being different and taking chances with my makeup. I consider it an art.

ICM: What is your favorite “go to” look if you have little time but don’t want to run out the door with a naked face?
J: My Everyday Tutorial I have on YouTube.

ICM: Why did you start making videos on YT and or start a blog?
J: I just came one day and said " I am going to do this" I was in hopes of helping others. And I am a true believer in "Everything happens for a reason."

ICM: Looking back, what are some things you wish someone would have told you before you jumped into the makeup addiction?
J: Never doubt yourself be confident. You don't need to be a certain shape or color to do what you love. It's a hard world out there, but don't ever stop what you love doing.

ICM: What is your favorite color?
J: Pink :o)

ICM: What is your favorite type of food or your favorite dish?
J: Mexican Food.

ICM: What other hobbies do you have?
J: Family, Family, Family :o)

ICM: What is your favorite 80s movie?
J: I don't think I have one. Oops!

ICM: What is the best brand or type of make up that will last through the “walk of shame”?
J: Hot pink Lips with Blue Eye Shadow.

ICM: What is your favorite online store(s) for beauty products or deals?
J: I really like the Max Factor line. And the NYC 974A lashes. You can't beat the price and the quality.

ICM: Who is your favorite comedian?
J: George Lopez

ICM: Anything else you’d like to share with the readers?
J: I just want to thank all of you for supporting me, my channel, my videos. You all have no idea how much this truly means to me. I am here for you ALL!
