Well last night I had a facial but since my esthetician is also a good friend we had planned to go to dinner afterwards. Knowing that and that the facial would destroy any eye make up I had on I had to figure out what I could to wear to work that would last through the facial so that I would still look presentable at dinner without having to reapply anything. Of course I could have also gone sans any eye make up all day but I wasn't in the mood for that so I decided that if anything was going to possibly hold up that it would be Blinc. I used both the liquid liner and the mascara and hoped for the best.
If you've ever had an enzyme facial you are probably familiar with the steaming process so you know where this is going...
Prior to starting the facial they usually remove any eye makeup with makeup remover to prevent liners and mascaras from smudging and running into your eyes. Knowing that Blinc isn't the type of product you use remover on I told her that she could just leave it on and that it should be fine since I know it doesn't run or smudge. Of course I had never exposed these products to steam before but if a shower doesn't make them run that I doubt a little steam would. If nothing else I expected the tubes to just soften and slide off on their own.
The steaming process is approximately 10 minutes and even though I totally fell asleep during that time I woke up curious to how my eyes would look. My esthetician came back in and continued the procedure and was actually intrigued that my liquid liner and mascara were still pretty much in tact. She did say that she could see the tubes loosening a little and that if she rubbed them they might come off. We decided it was NOT a good idea to try so she left my eyes alone. After all was said and done I looked in the mirror and my eyes looked pretty much unaffected by the steam or facial. If I looked closely (like 3 inches from the mirror) I could see that the tubes weren't as perfect as they usually are but to the naked eye no one would have known that I had just had a facial that included steam.
To me this was the ultimate test of just how waterproof these items are. Liquid liner that didn't run, mascara that didn't smudge? Its nearly unheard of but Blinc really did withstand the steam from my facial which allowed me to go to dinner afterwards with glowing skin and perfectly lined eyes and long lashes! Once I got home everything washed off as it usually does, in seconds and without irritating my sensitive eyes.So if you are still on the hunt for a truly waterproof liquid liner or mascara and this doesn't convince you to try these amazing products I don't know what will. Granted the mascara is not for everyone but you will not find a better liquid liner that the Blinc Kiss Me one! At least not in my opinion.
Now I just need to get my hands on the colored mascaras and liners and I'll be set! :)
Stay tuned next week for a full review on the liner alone as well as their mascara primer (both here and on my YT channel).
