ManGlaze Matte Nail Polish -The Death Tar

A couple weeks ago I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try ManGlaze Matte Nail Polish. I received both colors, The Death Tar (matte black) and Fuggen Ugly (matte gray). I've been wearing The Death Tar polish for about a week and it's awesome! I first started with just 2 coats and no top coat to see how I liked the matte look and its pretty cool. Different than most black polishes and I really like the "rough" look. The only thing I found was that for me (this may not happen to others) I felt that without the top coat my polish was not "protected" and I got a few nicks when going about my day. Nothing obvious unless you really inspected my nails but just an observation. I still love the look though, this color in particular reminds me of flat black primer. It's very matte and a grayish black with a hint of sparkle. Almost like Mac's Knight Divine eye shadow (in the pan not applied). I also noticed that without a top coat the polish itself seems a bit porous and it soaks up the nail oil and lotion so over time, while it remains matte, it also gains a hint of shine if that makes sense (a video will be posted this weekend to show you how it looks and how it progressed over time).

About 30 minutes after applied. 2 coats, no polish

So far the matte has lasted all week but I wanted to see what it looked like with a top coat so last night I applied CND Super Shiney and while it definitely made a difference it didn't get super shiny like most polishes so that was cool because I was afraid that a top coat would significantly alter the matte finish.

Clearly by the name this polish is geared towards men but as with most cosmetics, it really is unisex. The packaging is very cool and the bottle is about the same size as most other polishes.

I get my nails done on Tuesday and plan to use Fuggen Ugly as my next color so stay tuned for that review next week.
